:: Wet Tail ::

One little girl died a few weeks ago after I came back from New York. She has something called “Wet Tail”, a fatal hamster disease. Well, I didn’t know whe had “Wet Tail” and didn’t give her any medicine. I actually thought she’s pregnant!

It’s weired. She has ONE unusual symptom, “swallen body”. I thought they should be very skinny from not eatting. Anyway, the girl got so fat and I thought she’s having some babies. A week later after I discovered her illness, she died.

Last week, I noticed the exactly the same symptoms on another girl. I must be genetic. Their mommy had Wet Tail before and she survived. Now, I just realized about Wet Tail after the second girl has been in pain for about 3-4 days now. It’s almost a week. I know it only takes a week to kill but I hope it’s not too late to fix her.

No…I can’t take her to a vet. My husband hates that idea. He instead went to Petsmart and bought some antibiodic liquid and “Dri-Tail” Thought it’s in the middle stage, I hope it will be Just on time to save the poor hammy.

I just switched her to a new tank because the old one is so stinky. She looks frustrated but cleaner tank must be better for her. I might try to clean her butt up a bit before or after giving her medicine but she seems so upset, frustrated that she could bite me. My hamsters never bite before. They’re very nice. When they’re sick though, it’s totally different story.

I hope she’ll be fine.
