Denied by Capital One

I got a letter from Pat W. Johnston, the Director of Cosumer Services at Capital One asking me to check out their Capital One No Hassle miles ultra card. (one of those junk mail) Normally, I would ignore Pat and send his letter straight to a shredder. This time, I decided to go online and spent 3 minutes filling out the online form, applying for the card. Between Pop and I, we have several versions of these plastic cards issued by 5 different finance institutions (too many for a poor couple like us with much debt to include big mortgage).
I’m interested in Capital One because of the 0% foreign transaction fee. Right now, the two Visa cards I have is charging 3% and 2% on AMEX.
Since I’ll be going back home for a month and my mom has started to use the card I gave her to shop when she travels, I’m trying to avoid the 3% fee to save some money. Capital One miles card is nice. I can collect miles to fly on many airlines or exchange points for gift. The rate isn’t too bad and there is no annual free. They also let you put your own picture on the card! I was so hoping to get this card for mom to use in Bangkok.
Unfortunately, I got “DENIED” in 10 seconds after I hit that “apply” button. Grr….r…r..! Capital One made me mad! I might get Pop to try later. He has a longer, much better credit history than I do.

i h8 it when that happens. and i donno why mo has better credit than me either… sigh!
@jeri WHY WHY? It must be a guy thing! I am way more responsible than Pop but why his credit score is higher :/

i think it’s bc we’re more careful w/their credit, and they don’t carry such a heavy load… still makes me go arrrghhh!!!!

Got a letter from Capitalone yesterday. They said I have too many high credit balance and obligations. (freakin mortgage on this overpriced house) Oh well…Screw you buddy! I hate you too
