2001, A Memorable Christmas
The most memorable Christmas for us was when we first bought the house 4 years ago. That was right after we got married and it was our first house. That small little home sweet home (which we just sold :o) holds so much good memories.
Isn’t it funny that we feel happier when we were … POOR?
Four years ago I just started a new degree program and worked part time in a library. We bought a small house and living off Pop’s small income. (Comic book artists do not make a lot of money, unfortunately!) We were so poor we didn’t have money for expensivee gifts, no christmas tree and no party. That year Pop and I didn’t work during holiday season so we just spent days and nights on an old sleeper sofa playing Final Fantasy 10. (The game was released 12/18/2001)
We got so stuck playing the game. I would play until I fell asleep and Pop would take over. (Shift mode) Yeah, what a teamwork! We beat the game in two days! That’s how we spent our 2001 Christmas and New year. Cuddling up with the most awesome Playstation 2 game ever!
This year, we’re doing much better in term of financial. We bought a new house, twice a size we used to live in. My salary trippled and Pop has his creator-own book coming out. We’ve got more money, more work, more responsibilities and less less less … LESS TIME for ourselves. We don’t spend as much time together as we used to 4 years ago. We stressed our from work overload. It’s so overwhelmed … I wish I could go back to be a bum working mimimum wage and carefree. Well … can’t do. We’re planning to have a baby next year. We’re expanding our family and there’s no turning back now
We’re growing up!
2005, A Hectic Christmas
Christmas this year is a hectic. I’ve been looking forward to holidays season since the beginning of the year but when it actually came, I’m so NOT READY for it
This year, we’ll have Pop’s family over for dinner on Christmas eve. That makes me nervous … very nervous. It’s the first time we open our house for guests (family members
The house is still a mess and basement construction is still going on. Today they should finish up with the paint job. Next, we have to get the bathroom done, Wet bar installed as well as carpet on the floor.
Pop is out and about right now. He just got done with the book and now have time for wife and family again. I asked him to stop by Toys R Us to pick up something for our 4 years old nephew. Toys R Us opens from 8AM to midnight, wooohoo!

happiness is always time together- don’t worry about christmas eve- just enjoy having pop’s family around- but plan cuddle time! that’s the best part of the holidays. mo took 3 days off so we’ll find time to do that ourselves!

It’s so nice that you ‘re planning for baby next year. I start thinking, but I cannot settle down in UK and I have no plan to buy a house here (Cannot afford for a good place).
